Meeting with the police

On May 14, 2018, we held our regular meeting with the police. The meeting minutes have been circulated to NPRA members by email and our members' Facebook group. 

Update on road adoption

Over the next months, we will finally see more roads in Napsbury being adopted by Herts County Council. A meeting report following a meeting with freeholders Crest has been circulated to NPRA members by email and our members' Facebook group.

Latest Napsbury Park Wildlife Report 

A new year, a new wildlife report written by the NPRA committee, which includes the annual bird survey performed in conjunction with our local RSPB group. How lucky we are to live in a place where you can hear and see tawny owls, woodpeckers and many more woodland

Napsbury Christmas Market 2017

Our Napsbury Christmas Market takes place on December 3 from 4-6pm in the Napsbury sports pavilion.

We will have 10 tables selling gifts. Napsbury Calendars will be on sale, too.

Entry is FREE and there will be 1 free cup of mulled wine per adult while stocks last in return for a charity donation. Our selected charity is Starlight Children's Foundation, a wish granting organisation.

ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

THE 13th AGM OF THE NAPSBURY PARK RESIDENTS ASSOCIATION WILL BE HELD IN THE
SPORTS PAVILION, PEGRUM WAY, NAPSBURY PARK ON THURSDAY 5th OCTOBER AT 8PM.

1. Notice of the Meeting
2. To receive the Chairman’s Report
3. To receive the Treasurer’s Report
4. To review the Annual Membership Fee
5. To elect the Officers and Committee members

Nominations for the positions of officers and committee members, proposed and seconded, and with the
consent of the nominee, must be sent to Paul Cordell, Secretary, 40 Rosemary Drive, Napsbury Park by
Thursday 28th September 2017.

THIS WILL CONCLUDE THE FORMAL BUSINESS OF THE MEETING. 

Thereafter there will be the opportunity to meet our guests, who will include Dreda Gordon (our London Colney Councillor), a representative from Hurford Salvi Carr (our Managing Agents), Martyn Bass, MD of MBS (the Landscapers), the committee and your neighbours.

HOW WE INFORM YOU:

Hello Spring!

Napsbury is in full bloom! Thanks to MBS and residents' efforts last year, we now have more daffodils and tulips blooming than ever before. We have hung up many more bird boxes around Napsbury woodland, too, attracting more wildlife. The benches that were installed by us last year are being used. Our most recent litter pick in February was also a big success with 38 rubbish bags collected. 
As a community we do a lot to keep Napsbury a lovely place to live.

Announcing the 2017 Photo Competition

The 2017 NPRA photo competition starts today! Any photos taken between Nov. 2016 and Oct. 8, 2017 will be eligible,

so send us your winter photos now to comms@npra.org.uk.

It has been a while since we posted to the website. NPRA memberships are now managed via an online database. If you would like to join

or renew your membership, please visit https://membermojo.co.uk/npra/ and add yourself, then pay the £6 annual fee (per household), as instructed. 

Members received monthly email newsletters and therefore have been kept very well informed this year. The NPRA committee meeting minutes can also be found in the members are of this site.  Additionally, they have access to the NPRA Facebook discussion group.

Napsbury Park "Clean for the Queen" Litter Pick

We are getting ready for our annual Summer Picnic and ahead of this community event, we are encouraging all Napsbury residents to help beautify our wonderful Grade 2 listed estate.

We have set up the Napsbury Park Litter Action group (http://www.litteraction.org.uk/npla) and are organising the Napsbury Park "Clean for the Queen" Litter Pick on June 12. The event is organised in conjunction with our local neighbourhood watch group. Equipment and bags will be provided on the day! You can bring your own bin bags and gloves, too.

Terms and Conditions:

1. The competition is divided into 4 categories:

Category 1: Best Landscape

Category 2: Best Landmark

Category 3: Best Junior Photographer (under 18)

Category 4: Best Fauna and Flora 

2. All photos must have been taken in or around the immediate vicinity of Napsbury Park and must have been taken between Nov. 2015 and Oct. 2016. Please, do not submit any photos which were previously entered for last year’s photo competition.

3. The winners of each Category will be decided by the judges. Prizes will be awarded to the winners of each of the four

categories, as decided by the competition judges.

4. To enter the competition you need to submit an electronic copy of your photo or photos by email to comms@npra.org.uk. For each photo please indicate the date on which it was taken, the category and provide your name, address and a contact telephone number.

5. All entries for the competition must be submitted by no later than Sunday, Oct. 2, 2016. Any entries received after this date will not be considered.

6. Subject to paragraph 7 below, the competition is open to all Napsbury Park Residents Association (NPRA) members who are up to date with membership fees and to any other residents of Napsbury Park who wish to join the NPRA (and pay the current membership fee of £5). NPRA membership applies to a dwelling and everyone living in that dwelling (only one membership fee per dwelling is required).

7. Entries for the competition will not be considered if you are (a) a professional photographer (which means someone who earns a living from taking, selling and/or licensing photographs) or (b) a committee member of the NPRA or c) a sponsor. The immediate family of a committee member of the NPRA or sponsors may enter the competition and in these circumstances the relevant committee member will not participate in the judging of the competition.

8. Subject to paragraph 7 above, the competition will be judged by a panel consisting of some or all of the committee

members of the NPRA and sponsors. The decisions of the judges will be final. The winner of each Category will be announced at or before the NPRA’s Festive Gathering in December 2016.

9. Photos may be digitally enhanced to make them brighter, clearer etc, but you must not manipulate the content. The judges reserve the right to exclude from the competition any photo which they believe may have been excessively treated so as to alter its authenticity.  

10. All entries must be your original work and must not infringe the rights of any other person. You must be the sole owner of copyright in all photographs entered and must have obtained permission of any people featured in the entries or their parents/guardians if children under 16 are featured. Also, you must not have breached any laws when taking your photos.

11. Prior to submitting any photos, you must not have offered any of your entries for sale, have been paid for any publication of any of your entries, or won or have been a runner up in any other photographic competition with any of your entries.

12. You will retain all intellectual property rights in each photo submitted for the competition. The NPRA may, however, wish to (a) make your photo or photos available for viewing on the NPRA Facebook page and/or the Napsbury Park website (b) arrange for your photo or photos to be displayed at Napsbury Park and/or printed in local publications and/or (c) use your

photo or photos in a calendar and/or on any merchandise which may be sold to raise monies for the NPRA.

By entering into the competition you agree that the NPRA may do this and that you will not be entitled to any royalties or other payments as a result of such use.

13. By entering into the competition you will be deemed to have agreed to be bound by these rules and the judges reserve the right to exclude any entry from the competition at any time and in their absolute discretion if the judges have reason to believe that you may have breached these rules.

14. The committee of the NPRA reserves the right to cancel this competition or alter any of the rules at any stage, if deemed necessary in its opinion, and if circumstances arise outside of its control.

15. If the winner of any prize is unable to be contacted after reasonable attempts have been made, the committee of the NPRA reserves the right to offer the prize to a runner up.

Happy New Year!

We are back online after the website was attacked by hackers in December! 

A few updates since we sent the last meeting minutes from Nov. 2015:

We did organise a Christmas Fayre in the end on Dec. 19. Over 70 of you attended, enjoying the mulled wine and

nibbles. Thanks for coming and browsing the stalls of our 10 local small business owners.  

We sold 85 NPRA calendars this year with photos taken by residents in the photo competition. It would be a shame to not

run this again next year, so please tell us, if you want us to run the competition and calendar again in 2016. 

We now have 17 litter bins and 16 dog waste bins around the park. Let's keep our Park green!

We received 116 photos from residents for our photo competition, which ran from April until Oct. 18, 2015. There were so many excellent entries showcasing our beautiful surroundings. The kids' entries were especially impressive!

This is the annual general meeting for all NPRA members to listen to updates on work achieved in the past year and to ask questions. As in previous years, you may wish to raise matters of concern to you with the NPRA committee and our guests. We have invited our management agency HSC, gardeners MBS, a local Police officer, Parish Councillors, and more.

There will be the opportunity to meet our guests, the committee and your neighbours.

Come to the Napsbury Jazz Picnic - Sep. 6, 2015! 

All Napsbury residents are invited to the Napsbury Jazz Picnic on Sunday 6th September from 3-7pm. This family event will take place at the shelter and green between Beningfield and Rosemary Drive, where we also had the Christmas Carols last December.

We're delighted to welcome back the Cassie Kinoshi Quintet and DJ Shan, who will provide the music. There will be kids activities and a bouncy castle. 

It's a picnic, so bring your own food, drink and picnic blanket.

There will be a "Napsbury Bake-Off" and bake sale, with prizes. More info to come, but get your recipe books out now.

The event is sponsored by our management agency HSC.
